SC dismisses Muthalik's plea to debar Congress candidates from polls

New Delhi, May 10 (IANS): The Supreme Court on Thursday dismissed a plea seeking to debar Congress candidates from the Karnataka Assembly elections for seeking votes on religious grounds by promising welfare schemes for a minority community in its manifesto.

A bench of Chief Justice Dipak Misra, Justice A M  Khanwilkar and Justice D Y Chandrachud rejected the plea by Sri Ram Sena leader Pramod Muthalik, observing that promising welfare measures to a community which is socially and economically backward, cannot be treated as seeking votes in the name of religion.

The court also said that it cannot interfere after the notification of the election and that too, just 48 hours before the polling.

Pramod Muthalik

Muthalik had contended that seeking votes in the name of religion was against the election code and pointed to the promises made to a minority community in the Congress' manifesto.

A joker in the BJP pack. The supreme Court can be spared precious time to deal with more important cases but this is what is the agenda of the BJP to divert attention from all the burning problemsfacing the nation and wasting the time of the supreme court.

The BJP if it is a responsible party should have counsseled this man to withdraw his case.

If cornered they will distance themselves from this man.

This assembly election for Karnataka nowhere in his election rally PM Modi has once said 'Kaam ki baat', naukri ki baat'.
The whole election promises are made on the basis of religion and caste. Where Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh silently working in disguise for its political affiliations.
Mutalik's Shri Ram Sene is one affiliation is loosely connected with the RSS issues either hatred speeches of lodge such petition.
If Kannadigas are smart the BJP's only motive is to deflect the attention from real issues to religion in order to grab sympathy votes. It's main target is the first time voters and young generation who don't have clear vision about the future or experience are the first victim.

In Tripura one of the highest educated state with with unemployment BJP devised the same strategy. It has succeeded in getting 42% of the Congress votes to its kitty. Now youth are regretting for not voting for CPI(M) of Manik Sarkar which has delivered all other parameters accept employment in a landlocked state. Now the BJP Chief Minister who believes Internet existed in Mahabharata time want the same youth to open 'Paan shop' and breed 'milking cows'.
Pramod Mutalik main accused in the Hubli courtyard bomb blast in late ATS Hemant Karkare report is now lodging petition using religion.
Did Mangaloreans forgiven him for 'Pub attacks'?
Did Kannadigas forgiven him hoisting Pakistan flag in India soil near Sindagi, Bijapur?
Did Kannadigas forgive him for 'riots for money'?
How the law of the land which applicable to Dr Zakir Naik is not applicable to Pramod Mutalik even after so much evidence?
    Jai Hind

Who the hell this Mutalik is to instruct SC what to do and what not. Is SC ancestrol property of this terrorist. SC should debar this terrorist from India and expect to Hawai near the valcano to taste it. SC should also take back his voting right. He is not fit to be in India. He is acting like an agent of Enemies of India by creating disturbance. He never spoke in favor of our Nation or Indians.
