Mangaluru, May 10: A day after daijiworld exposed the 'Silent Campaign' for BJP by RSS workers, Dharmaraj, who is said to be one of the campaigners, said that it was a campaign only for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah.
Daijiworld on Wednesday May 9 had in an exclusive story reported that RSS cadre in Mangaluru South and North constituencies were doing a 'Support Modi - Silent Campaign' for the BJP, without identifying with the party. The document in possession of daijiworld asks volunteers to attack the Congress largely on religious lines. Though daijiworld never mentioned Dharmaraj's name, the achitect and Mangaluru City Corporation consultant on Thursday May 10 came out in the open not only virtually admitting his role, but also defending the campaign.
Addressing a press meet here, he said, "Daijiworld published a news about me that I am doing a silent campaign for the BJP. I am doing it for Modi and Amit Shah. I am a supporter of Modi and Amit Shah and I campaigned for them because only they can bring development. If in this election people for BJP, it will strengthen Modi's hands.
"I respect RSS like my mother. RSS is a nation-builder. I do not support any party, but I stand with whoever undertake development. Modi and Shah are also products of RSS, so they have vision of development.
"I am hardcore fan of Modi's and Amit Shah's vision of development. This is not a silent campaign. Every Indian knows the calibre of Modi and Shah. Now I have only 300 members with me, but in the coming days we will add 10 lac members from Udupi and DK," he said.
Attacking the Congress, he said, "Congress looted and destroyed India. It does not have any validity anymore. Only Modi can lead India on the path of development and prosperity. The city has not seen any development over the last few years. In my opinion, only BJP candidates who are influenced by Modi can bring development to this city."
He also said that it was not the BJP but the Congress which was doing politics based on religion and community. "Without communal agenda the Congress cannot win the elections. They do not have any achievements in terms of development to go to people and ask votes."
He also lashed out at the reservation system for the SC/ST and other backward classes. "There is no benefit in reservation policy. Congress did it only for vote bank, to divide the nation on the basis of caste, and not to uplift the SC/ST communities. In India every citizen should be treated equally. There is no meaning in having reservations for a particular caste or community."
