In separate cases, IT raids Ashok Kheny; Rs 2 crore seized in Sriramulu's constituency

Bengaluru, May 11: The election commission and income tax department officials seized a Scorpio in Molakalmuru in Bellary which is a constituency of BJP candidate Sriramulu and seized Rs 2.17 crore here on Friday May 11.

The Scorpio driver Uma Shankar has been taken into custody. The cash was found in Yeddalabommanahatti in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka border area of Raidurga.


Raid on Kheny

In Bidar, the IT officials raided Congress candidate Ashok Kheny's house in Rampura and another house in Bengaluru's Sadashivanagar and are checking the documents.

Another Congress leader Vinay Kulkarni's aide Prashanth Kekare too has been raided by the Income tax officials.


Residence of Mangaluru doctor raided

The income tax department on Thursday late night raided the residence of a city-based doctor here at Mulihitlu, Bolar.

During the raid, a scribe who was at doctor's residence was questioned by the IT officials.

The officials who raided the doctor at late night on May 10 checked the documents till 2.45am. The officials also questioned other family members during the raid.

At the time of assembly polls, the IT officials had raided several government officials and political leaders. It is yet to be revealed why Mangaluru based doctor was raided. No information is available about cash or other valuables seized during the raid.
