Bengaluru, May 14: Contrary to the exit-poll predictions of most political analysts, which say that BJP is the largest single party, the central and the state intelligence reports on assembly polls have predicted that the ruling Congress would emerge as the single largest party contrary to exit polls results which are in favor of the BJP.
As per the report by the Intelligence Bureau (IB), the Congress would win 95-102 seats comfortably, followed by 80-85 seats to the BJP and 35-40 seats for the JD(S).
The assessment by the central agency also predicted that chief minister Siddaramaiah would win both the constituencies. However the winning margin in Chamundeshwari constituency would be thin compared to Badami constituency where is expected to win with huge margin against BJP's B Sriramulu. JD(S) president H D Kumaraswamy is likely to lose Channapatna to BJP candidate as per the report.
The state intelligence wing too has given Congress edge over others. As per the report by the state wing, the Congress would win 102 seats, while the BJP would win 70 and the JD(S) will win only 28 seats.
There are 20 constituencies where a tough fight between Congress/BJP and Congress/JDS is expected. The results in these 20 seats would decide about the clear winner in the state. However there is tough contest between the three parties in 30 constituencies.
However both the reports suggest that no party would get majority to form the government.
