Bengaluru, May 18: Congress MLAs who were sheltered in Eagleton Resort near Bidadi reportedly moved in three buses to Hyderabad late night on Thursday May 17. JD(S) legislators who were put up in Shangri La Hotel in the city also began their journey to Hyderabad, it is said.
The MLAs went to Hyderabad by buses after the DGCA denied permission for chartered flights to Kochi, their initial destination. It is said that Congress tried to arrange for special flight for their legislators, but as arrangements could not be made for the same in time, they left in buses. Reportedly Congress leaders are angry at the interference of the union ministry of civil aviation which is said to have denied permission for the special flight.
Ramalinga Reddy
Speaking to media persons on Thursday night, former home minister, Ramalinga Reddy, agreed that the legislators are being shifted elsewhere to save them from becoming victims of 'Operation Kamala'. He however refused to confirm the place where they are being taken.
After taking part in the protest held near Vidhan Soudha on Thursday, the Congress legislators led by MP, D K Suresh, had returned to the resort in the afternoon. At the same time, police security provided to Eagleton Resort by the state government was withdrawn by Thursday evening. Till then, a contingent of district armed reserve police and over 20 other police personnel had been deployed for security around the resort. It is learnt that the security was taken back at the behest of the office of the chief minister.
