8.31 pm: BJP's Pritam Gowda rubbishes reports of him quitting party to join JD(S). "I am a loyal BJP worker. I am not joining the JD(S). I tried to convince JD(S) MLAs to support the BJP, but I will not join JD(S). If such reports have appeared in the media, it raises question on the media's credibility," he said.

8.25 pm: "We have a dozen audio clippings of BJP, on Amit Shah, Modi and others. We will release them one by one," says Congress leader Ugrappa.

8.15 pm: BJP condemns Congress over audio release, says CD fake. "This audio CD is one of the handiworks of Congress' dirty tricks department. This is a fake CD," says union minister Prakash Javadekar.

7.20 pm: Congress MLAs leave from Hyderabad Taj Krishna hotel to travel to Bengaluru.

6.35 pm: The audio released by the Congress is purportedly a conversation between mining baron Janardhana Reddy and Congress MLA Basanagouda. Reddy allegedly promised him ministerial berth along with Rs 150 crore.

6.25 pm: Congress in a press meet releases audio alleging bribe from BJP leaders. "BJP leaders were offering Rs 25 crore to each of our MLAs, now they are offering Rs 150 crore," claims Congress MLC Ugrappa.

6.19 pm: BJP gives its 104 MLAs strict instructions not to stay at home. Instead the MLAs have been told to stay in Shangri La hotel overnight and proceed to Vidhana Soudha directly for the assembly session on May 19. The JD(S) MLAs were in the same hotel on Thursday before being shifted to Hyderabad.

6.06 pm: Congress moves Supreme Court against appointment of K G Bopaiah as pro-tem speaker.

5.58 pm: "All the MLAs are here, we will be leaving for Bengaluru. Siddaramaiah has come here. We have 77 MLAs here. No pressure on us. It will be our government," says Congress MLA Rajashekar Patil in Hyderabad.

5.45 pm: Congress MLAs and leaders meet in Taj hotel in Hyderabad. JD(S) chief H D Kumaraswamy also present.

5.14 pm: Vidhana Soudha secretary S Murthy convenes press meet to brief about tomorrow's floor test. Every MLA should procure certificate of election from respective constituency from the Election Commission. All MLAs will take oath in the morning.

5 pm: Governor summons assembly to meet tomorrow at 11 am.

4.49 pm: "Fully support Bopaiah's appointment as pro-tem speaker. There is nothing illegal about Bopaiah's appointment. Congress is trying to delay proceedings": BJP leader Shobha Karandlaje

3.54 pm: Congress leader Dinesh Gundu Rao tweets: "BJP is getting desperate...some of our MLA’s are being contacted incessantly, with offers running into 100’s of crores. Is this the morality that Modi talks about. For power they are willing to sell their souls (sic)."

3.49 pm: BJP MLA K G Bopaiah to be pro tem speaker for tomorrow's floor test. Bopaiah takes oath in presence of governor Vajubhai Vala. Congress objects, says seniormost member of the assembly (R V Deshpande) should be the pro-tem speaker as per convention. Bopaiah, a three-time legislator, had been pro-tem speaker in 2008 as well.

3.28 pm: "Yeddyurappa should not have claimed stake to form the government without the numbers. In the last sentence of his letter to the governor on May 15, he decisively declared he will form the government with the support of 'others', even though the EC had not even published the final results": Singhvi.

    sri_elder, Karkala, needs to clarify if his three statements in this news at brief intervals, one contradicting the other, are his emotions or reasons. Going by his arguments, Yeddi would have proved his majority the day he was sworn in, not give 15 days. Disgrace to the governor who is being prompted by his employer to give Yeddi more days than even asked for. Generous governor. 15 days are too much to negotiate corrupt deals and perpetuate robbery and criminality. Modi did not know that BJP is for eliminating corruption. Charity begins at home. Clean your house first.
