Mangaluru: Humanity First Foundation conducts blood donation camp

Media Release

Mangaluru, May 19: Humanity First Foundation (HFF), Mangaluru team successfully conducted its first social project, the blood donation camp in co-ordination with AJ Hospital along with the support of Bejai parish at the St Francis Xavier Church School Hall on Saturday, May 19.

The programme started by welcoming the assistant parish priest Fr Rohan Lobo, AJ Hospital medical officer Aravind, HFF national general secretary Sharon Alva and Judith D’Souza. Mementos were handed over to all the guests by Mangaluru HFF Team.

Arvind informed to the donors present about the benefits of blood donation. Furthermore, he said that for everything there is a replacement, but for blood there is no such replacement. So he informed more people to come forward and donate blood.

Fr Roshan Rego said, “Nowadays, many do not come forward to donate blood because they are busy in their own schedule.” He also called upon the youth to come forward to donate blood and be an instrument of saving lives of people. He also thanked HFF team for coming forward and organising the blood donation camp.

Sharon Alva said, “We do not know the importance of donating blood because people suffering may not be from our family. When we require blood, we spread message through WhatsApp, facebook and other sources. Instead of that, we should come forward when anyone organizes blood donation camp.”

He further thanked parish priest Fr Wilson D’Souza, AJ Hospital team of doctors and staff, Daijiworld representatives, HFF post holders namely Judith D’Souza, Johnson D’Souza, Letitia D’Souza, Lester D’Souza, Anthony Machado, Benedicta H Machado, Stany Machado, Rajesh Misquith and Roshan Rego and all the HFF members for the support extended towards conducting a successful blood donation camp.

He thanked the volunteers of ICYM of Bejai parish for their support towards the camp.

More than 40 donors participated in the blood donation camp. They were given a memento by the HFF team for showing concern towards the society. AJ Hospital will present certificates to all the blood donors. AJ Hospital presented a certificate to the HFF team for successfully conducting the blood donation camp which was received by Sharon Alva on behalf of the team.

The sponsors for the memento were Adolf D’Souza and family, and Vivian and Jessie Pereira from Muscat.

Banner sponsors and memento for guests were sponsored by Joachim D’Souza, Peter Rodriguez and Letitia D’Souza.

Lunch and breakfast for all the donors and staff was sponsored by Lancy Lobo, proprietor of New P L Caterers.
