Mangaluru, May 21: Late A T Lobo’s ‘Aunkwar Avoi’ Konkani classic drama was staged at Don Bosco Hall on Sunday, May 20 to a houseful crowd. The drama set in 1950s took the audience to the golden old days.
The drama was directed by John M Permannur and produced by A T Lobo Foundation was enacted by Kalakutam team.
In a short stage function held prior to the classic play, all people including donors who contributed to the play were honoured. President of A T Lobo Foundation Alice Lobo, Coordinator Albert Sequeira, and Celine Sequeira graced the stage.
Alice Lobo welcomed and explained about the work done so far by A T Lobo Foundation and the future plans they have. Celine Sequeira proposed vote of thanks. Alwyn Pinto compered.
Clita Noronha, Roshan Lasrado, Usha Fernandes, Leslie Ferro, Jeevan Vas, Nisha Marola, Nishel Almeida, Nigel Pereira, Roshan D’Souza, Wilbert Colaco, Martin D’Souza, Edward Lobo, Meera Vas, Merlyn Mascarenhas and Alwyn Pinto acted in the drama.
Shamitha Feral D’Souza was the music director. The songs were written by late by Wilfy Rebimbus and sung by Meena Rebimbus and Ivan Sequeira.
Stage setting was by Allwyn Bajal and Jerry Concessao was stage manager. Giriappa Idya was makeup man. Kingsley Nazareth provided lights and sounds with assistance from Ismail Vittal.
The drama with duration of 3 hours was enjoyed by all with a spectacular flow.
Writer of the play A T Lobo was one among the five top authors of Konkani. He wrote many novels and plays which are popular till date. A T Lobo Foundation spreads his literature to the new generation.
