Bengaluru: More MLAs will take oath on Wednesday – H D Kumaraswamy

Daijiworld Media Network – Bengaluru (RJP)

Bengaluru, May 22: “I am not the only one taking oath tomorrow. There will be others also,” said JD(S) state president and chief minister designate H D Kumaraswamy.

He was speaking to reporters on Tuesday, May 22 here.

He did not give details, but said a few including some MLAs from Congress may take oath with him. He is scheduled to take oath as chief minister in front of Vidhana Soudha at 4.30 pm on Wednesday, May 23. More than four lac people are expected to witness the event.

Kumaraswamy said that he will finalise the names of MLAs taking oath after consulting Congress leaders K C Venugopal and Siddaramaiah.

Kumaraswamy had earlier said that he is the only person taking oath on Wednesday with others likely to take oath after the trust vote.

Kumaraswamy is visiting Dharmasthala and Sringeri today.

Very happy that INC offered unconditional support to JD(s) to form Govt.

This type of co-coalition is FAR BETTER THAN ALLOWING POUCHING OF THEIR MLA'S for Rs.100/- crores to each MLA and making mockery of our democracy and institutionalizing corruption !
Anyway INC's percentage of voting is higher than any other party.
Combine percentage of votes polled for secular parties is over 57%

Mr Valerian - What a logic? How can you add up and call 57%. In most of the seats where JDS won(Mysuru region) it was fighting against congress. So all the people there voted against congress. So you cannot just add these 2 and call 57%.
Also, we have a CM from a party that lost deposits in 119 seats of 224. Win for Democracy! what a joke?

So who is the biggest loser from all this ? Answer is Congress (but poor supporters think they have won something without realizing the big loss)
Regional party like JD-S with 38 seats have the CM post and will now dictate terms to Congress.
The Congress is holding on last straw to be in existence. This trend will continue and all the regional parties in all states will start dictating terms to Congress and Congress will become a second fiddle party and will soon disappear. Congress Mukth Bharath is already happening and will soon happen.

All, I have a question. If its Cong-JDS combine ruling the state now, what about the future? How will elections be campaigned and fought in the state? Will it be Cong-JDS combine versus BJP or Cong and JDS on their own separately as different parties? These things have to be made very clear before hand.

..its because High command pressure state leader agreed, now they have to mend themselves with your question..HQ only interested in Delhi power, thats why Congress made allies every where who ate up vote share..JDS will try everywhere at a cost to the Congress..JDS will enter DK once again..can Congress revive itseff like BJP..NO..How can they fight their own allies SP/BSP/CPI/TMC/TDP/MUSLIM LEAGUE/OWASI/NC/DMK..then from where they will get seats or vote for themselves!!..once imaginary enemy of RSS/SHAH/MODI evaporates Congress will realise its mistake..

Best thing for them to do is to have a seat sharing arrangement in future elections.
In old Mysore region where JDS is strong, the seats should be given to them. In other constituencies depending on the candidate's winning chances they have to field the best from either Congress or JDS. If they do this pre poll arrangement BJP can never come to power in the state.
Even for Loksabha election they should have seat sharing arrangement.
Before that we have to wait and see how they do in the present post poll alliance.

Jai Ho JDS!! Akhir aagyaa oont Pahad ke neeche! Sir, I like your stand of making it clear that you are the king and not the king maker. Congress has to be shown the right place, without any interference in the day to day ministry administration. I see that many of our bretheren are shifting loyalties to JDS.

If you really want to wish, wish them Good luck with Good Feelings. Remember if this coalition Govt collapses, then its not any political parties are the suffers. But remember the election cost is on the people (tax payers money).

I would have, at least if they had earned a few seats more than the last time!
i can not accept two losing parties coming together and forming a government. Both have been rejected by the people of Karnataka, only BJP has gained more seats.

Even BJP was not given clear mandate. Infact this is not the first time that parties in 2nd 3rd position are coming together to vote. Infact BJP in Manipur won only 2 seats!.

Secondly BJP was clearly given a chance to win the vote of confidence. But it has failed so naturally they have to resign and give chance other parties.
