Mangalore: Tension Prevails in District : Stone Pelting, Stabbing Incidents at Night

At 9.00am, IST, Sep 16

Mangalore, Sep 16: Normal life in the city and elsewhere in the district continues to remain paralysed for the third day today. Srirama Sene has called for bandh today, in protest against the incident in which one of its activists were stabbed in the city, in the afternoon on Tuesday September 15 and also demanding for immediate arrest of the culprits. However, Prof M B Puranik has informed, that the Mangalore taluk bandh called for by Srirama Sene today, does not have the support of Bajrang Dal and other Sangh Parivar outfits.

Shops and establishments remain closed. The district administration has declared holiday for schools and colleges in the district today. Roads wear a deserted look, with only a handful of private vehicles moving about. Residents have chosen to remain indoors, because of the tension that envelopes the city and surrounding places.

Some miscreants pelted stones at the CODP centre located at Nanthur in the city, late night on Monday. In Golthamajal near Bantwal, two people travelling in a motor bike were stabbed by unidentified miscreants. The condition of One of the injured persons named Navin, is reported to be serious. Both have been admitted to hospital. However, it is gathered, that this stabbing incident is not in any way connected with the current disturbances.

Security personnel have been manning churches. The chief minister has already announced, that the government would compensate for the losses suffered by churches. However, a disturbing trend was witnessed yesterday, with the stand off between some Hindu outfits and the Catholics threatening to blow into a three-dimensional disturbance, as Muslims were involved in an incident that occured yesterday.

Those who totally rely on their day-to-day earnings have been worst hit, as they are unable to go to their work places because of lack of public transport. Even those who walk to their destinations find it difficult to get their daily need of milk, groceries etc., as almost all the shops were closed yesterday, and continue to remain closed today too. Sparingly, some of the shops opened doors late evening, bringing relief to many who are in dire straits. People were found struggling to get to their homes, tourists were taken for a ride by a few vehicles which were available and banks and government offices worked with thin attendance.

Udupi: Christians Meet DC, Urge Adequate Protection to Places of Worship

Report and Pics from Hemanat Padubidri

Udupi, Sep 15:
Christians led by former Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy member Vincent Alva met the deputy commissioner Hemalata and submitted a memorandum urging her to provide adequate protection to Christians on Monday September 15 afternoon.

It could be recalled that a prayer centre belonging to one of the Christian groups near old service bus stand here was attacked by Bajrangdal activists on Sunday September 14 morning. Following this Catholics of almost all the 48 churches that come under Udupi zone had gathered in their respective churches in order to provide security to their churches.

Though attacks on Christians prayer houses and churches in neighbouring Dakshina Kannada district had given rise to sporadic violence, Christians of Udupi zone had maintained peace without giving heed to any rumours. Catholic youth who showed great restrain in not getting into violence, had urged all the Catholics to gather near deputy commissioner’s office in order to stage peaceful protest.

Accordingly more than 200 Christians from Shirva deanery, Kemman, Brahmavar, Udupi, Sastan, Barkur and other parishes gathered near deputy commissioner’s office on Monday. They were led by Vincent Alva, ICYM Udupi district unit animator Wilson D'Souza Shirva, ICYM Udupi former president Michael Rodrigues Sastan, ICYM Udupi president Manoj D'Lima, Catholic Sabha Kallianpur deanery president Felix Pinto met the deputy commissioner at her office and submitted memorandum.

The protestors restrained from staging any protest or rally but met the deputy commissioner maintaining peace.  Vincent Alva speaking with the deputy commissioner said that conversion is nothing but an excuse given to attack Christians. “We are peace-loving people and we do not want to harm anyone by word or deed. We respect everyone and expect the same from others. But we have been soft targets for fanatics. We condemn these attacks and urge you to give adequate protection to our prayer houses, churches and to us," he added.

Accepting the memorandum, deputy commissioner Hemalata assured that all Christians in the district will be give complete protection and law-breakers from any religion will not be tolerated. “I want to send a clear message to all  that anyone indulging in any kind of violence will be brought to books,” she assured.

Once the memorandum was submitted, group dispersed from the place silently. Though a few Bajrangdal activists had gathered outside deputy commissioner's office, nothing untoward happened, as both groups displayed exemplary restrain from violence.

Mangalore: Police Resort to Lathi Charge Near Bajpe Church, Opposite Athena Hospital

at 5.15pm, IST

Mangalore, Sep 15: Continuing with their caning spree in the city, the police lathi-charged a gathering of Catholic protestors who had gathered at Bajpe church premises, in the evening, for dispersing them. It may be recalled, that prohibitory orders have been clamped in the city for three days.

Meanwhile, a gang of four miscreants assaulted a person named Deepu, said to be a Sangh-Parivar activist, near State Bank Circle in the city in the afternoon, with a knife. Soon, a big crowd gathered opposite Athena Hospital, where Deepu is being treated for the stabbing wounds. As the crowd threatened to swell beyond manageable size, the policemen dispersed the crowd, by resorting to caning, in the evening.

Mangalore: No Faith on District Administration : Bishop Aloysius

Mangalore, Sep 15: Speaking on behalf of the bishop of Mangalore who is sick, Fr Onil D’Souza told the media persons on Monday September 15, that the miscreants have attacked the cross and desecrated the holy sacrament in the adoration monastery in Milagres. "There is nothing left for us now to say anything on the issue, as the miscreants desecrated the cross and the holy sacrament that are more precious than our own lives," he regretted.

The hooligans also attacked the nuns in the monastery. The nuns belong to the congregation of Cloistered Carmelites. They never come out of the convent once they enter into it. They spend all their life in prayers. They come out only for voting, with the permission of the bishop and when seriously ill, he informed.

No faith on district administration:

The catholic community has lost faith in the district and police administration, as the attackers have continued to target them relentlessly. The government machinery has failed to take action against the miscreants. The Catholics are also the citizens of this nation like others and they have all the right to live here peacefully, he stressed.

"The Catholics expressed their anguish by taking to the road immediately after the attack on the monastery. Meanwhile, a few youth belonging to the Catholic community have been arrested by the police. The police should release them immediately," he urged.

“District in-charge minister Krishna Palemar visited the bishops’ house on Monday. We told him not to give any assurances, but to ensure security to the minority community in the district,” he added.

“If the anti-social elements are taking law and order in their hands, why do we have the district administration and police in place? We are in a helpless situation. The Catholic community has never indulged in any forcible conversions or spoken derided any other religion,” he cleared.

Bishop Aloysius Paul D’Souza said, that the attack on the police by the youth is condemnable. "No one should take the law into their hands. This applies to all the groups and violence should never be the chosen path of the Catholics," he advised.

The BJP Government in Karnataka appears to be ready in pre-election mould for the next Lok Sabha election. They want to polarise the people on caste basis as is done in Gujarat by Modi on Hindutva. The attack on churches, the caning of innocent nuns, elederly ladies who were gathered peacefully for protestby the police indicates the administration, the police and ruling political party are hand in glove with the bajrang dal.Their accusations that there are forcible conversions of hindu is a canard and so far no case is made out by them. It is pre-planned strategy by the BJP to attack the christians. I sugest that all the charitable work done by the christians should be stopped at least for a week.

Wake up and smell the bigotry!! Christianity in Mangalore is centuries old.Dont use a piece of literature as an excuse to take the law in your hands and attack our places of worship. No one has the right to insult gods of another religion. But there are laws and the state machinery to take care of that.CHRISTIANS DO NOT CONVERT PEOPLE FORCIBLY.if people are being converted to christianity it is because of the example we set and that holds good for any religion.

People are drawn towards the tenets of a particular faith and convert,be it to hinduism, islam or christianity for their own personal reasons.Let the Sangh Parivar open educational institutions, homes for the aged and dying, hospitals for the needy and serve society irrespective of caste, creed or religion, instead of stooping this low and attacking houses of worship.

The self proclaimed "guardians" of religion are using it as an excuse to hit back at a peaceful, cohesive community who has done nothing but good for this country, and will continue to do so.We christians will and should not stoop to these levels of intolerance.

We are made of a finer sensibility than others which has been in existence for thousands of years in this country and does not need this type of petty politics to survive thousands of years more and there are scores of educated and enlightened men and women out there who will agree with me.And for the sake of this country, which I can only see fall apart around me,i sincerely hope many more will.Jai Hind.

Any community before getting down to the streets must discuss with their higher authorities(Gurus,Swamijis, bishops,DC,Police)and take a silent march to protest. This is not the way to express our problems. I am sure this type of agitations, accusations will accelerate more and misunderstanding among all communities. We are all in the civilised world.

How come the district administration has quickly declared holiday for schools and colleges for today’s bundh? It appears that the dist. Administration and the state govt are fully supporting the bundh.

It is really saddening to see Mangalore go backward towards the 1940s rather than forward. All such events do not augur well for the general economic development, peace and prosperity of Mangalore.

Finally, I request all the protestors to keep the protests peaceful and rational. Please do not block roads and highways you will only succeed in inconveniencing normal innocent people from going about their daily activities and depriving some poor people of their livelihood

This is a state sponsered terrorism. The model is exactly the same like Gujarat, difference is only community which is been targetted. We christians are not in denial mode. All we been asking is to provide ONE SINGLE evidence of forceful conversion. I seen in TV the litrature that is presented by Bajarang Dal, certainly that litrature hurts everyone.

It's a irony that most (99% certainly) christians are unaware of such litrature, while Bajarng Dal is. Shoot the people who distribute such litrature or do forceful conversions, we are with the law and the justice. But what is happening is pre-planed, while every hindu feel's his religion is undermined, and every christians feel they been brutalized for no fault of theirs.

One last comment: When a community acts against another community, there will be clashes and fights. But it will die down. But when the state sponser's it, there will be terrorism, as the idealogy of revenge can be easily swayed by fundamental elements. It may get BJP to power, but certainly at the cost of harmony, peace and progress. Want to check the facts - get to the police station to find, who is behind bars?

My thoughts to our leaders ... What does it matter how the people of India worship and who they worship as long as they worship God the Creator. Our country for centuries has been known for tolerance of religions and conversions have been taking place ever since. Isn't it better to pray than not to pray at all and do evil?

Today, tolerance of religions have been taken over by power, ego and building vote banks. Don't the concerned people realize that even the poorest of the poor are intelligent and can differentiate between the good from the bad. Will such atrocities get these parties the desired votes in the coming elections? Instead of working on issues that really need to be addressed like poverty, power, environment, water, garbage disposal, creating jobs for our youths, healthcare, social security, fighting terrorism.... what are we doing -wasting our precious energy and time on "conversions", developing panic and chaos in the cities, retarding progress as business establishments have to remain closed.

Can't the parties calling for bandhs be penalised by paying a huge hefty penalty to the Government like they have to in Maharashtra? How can we then attract investments if this is going to be the road ahead? Then how will the current Chief Minister achieve his desired vision, if parties call for bandhs regularly. I urge all our leaders, especially those indulging in such atrocities to analyse the damage done and start initiating dialogues with leaders of other religions, political parties.... than use muscle power to resolve problems which ultimately gets us no progress.

Its a shame to hear the words from a chief ministers mouth as on NDTV where his comments amount to instigation rather than helping to calm the situation. This clearly reflects the communal essence in the ruling BJP government and shows how the police have been given a free hand in allowing them act as they have.

I strongly condemn the ruling BJP government as they are incapable to safeguard the minorities as has been proved in other states as well. Yedurappa should step down as he has shown he is a inefficient CM.YEDURAPPA YOU ARE ANSWERABLE TO THE MANGALORE CATHOLIC COMMUNITY. Today i saw Police hitting innocent people including women who were inside the holy place, what kind of police force we have and in what authority they do this, and what the Government is doing. This is a Republic country and every community, Caste has theier rights to worship their Religion. But yesterday Bajaranga dal and today police itself attacking on innocent people is not tollerated. Government should take action against Bajaranga dal because it is local Terrorism.

This is really a serious matter and if it is taken lightly then Mangalore would be a dangerous place to live in. This problem has only one solution Take strict action against Bajaranga dal anyone doing crime, terror or damage to the public property in these sangha names should be arrested and punished according to the Law and Police must be warned against hitting the innocent people.

One more thing there are incident of crimes (6 today) and this is seriously enquired and the criminals must be punished. I just want to quote the section 144, the people who attacked by police were not doing anything against the law. “Central Government Act Section 144 in The Indian Penal Code, 1860 Joining unlawful assembly armed with deadly weapon. Whoever, being armed with any deadly weapon, or with anything which, used as a weapon of offence, is likely to cause death, is a member of an unlawful assembly, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to two years, or with fine, or with both.”

Dear Mangaloreans and Kannadigas, please be calm and mild. The Roman Catholic Churches shouldn't have been attacked by group of people without looking into the base of the problem. They should have been tried to find out which organisation or community is trying to disturb the society and then they should have been tried to prevent growth of such organisation legally.

Because of attacking, such chaos atmosphere is created all around the district. Still it's not too late... come on Mangaloreans try to find out New Life organisation and try to convince them.. if not then do it legally and punish them. Thus we can regain our unity...come on Mangalorean hurry up... stop the blood shed and be united.

Have you ever realised why such attacks have increased only after your Government came to power. Why havent you taken strict action at that time such attacks initially happened. so that future attacks. Havent christians voted you to come to power.

Dont you think all these attacks were pre-planned as they have attacked many holy places at same time. What happened in Orissa. Havent Bajrangdal/Sangh parivar activists killed innocent people for no fault of theirs. Everybody who invloved directly or indirectly in such dirty acts will receive their reward sooner or later.

This should be termed nothing less than a "terrorist attack" on Christians.

Surprisingly even after more than 24 hours desecration of religious places is on. What does this convey? It conveys that these terrorist elements have the full support of the Govt which is turning a Nelson's eye to the episodes.

Moreover, reading reports of the police caning and tear gassing innocent people who had taken shelter in church compounds shows that they also are acting in support of the goons. These undesirable elements have done the ultimate damage by entering the sanctum sanctorum of the Adoration hall and desecrating the place.

There is nothing more left to be done as it is considered as the most holiest of places for the Catholics. See what the Catholic community is getting in return for the multifarous social activities, charitable activities, and other such services it gives for the downtrodden, underprivileged, and exploited people in farlorn areas, jungles, naxalite infested areas where no one from their commumity would dare go?

This is big lesson for the Catholic Church. They should put an immediate stop to unsolicited charitable and other such activities towards such ungrateful & shameless elements. These desperadoes themselves neither have the intention nor the wherewithal to help their own people and now out of jealousy are attacking the very people who serve them.

Shame on them! Down with such elements! Looking at the present situation and the updates it appears that there is a big plan to keep the Catholics out there in perpetual harrasment by indulging in such cowardly tactics. It is a very bad day in the annals of Mangalore's history that it had to see such a day!!

This place has today become famous the world over as an emerging communal hotbed because of these antisocial elements. Over the years these funda groups have gone from strength to strength, hence they had the guts to openly attack the places of worship during daylight in the presence of people.

Our preists and nuns should refrain from doing charitable activities but for their own community unless asked for or solicited from someone outside the community. Unless this nuisance is not nipped in the bud when the situation is hot, they will grow more powerful wings and continue with these despicable acts.

The most shocking newsreport is of people having collected in a temple near BC Road with weapons and stones to attack the protestors. Why did not the police arrest them charging them with possesion of weapons meant for rioting?? The need of the hour is to raise our voices loudly and see that it is heard at the highest echelons of power till strict action is taken against the perpet

What about the education the christian brought in. Hinduisum is thousands of years old. But education in India is equivalent to nil (even in Sanskrit) till the Christian missionaries came in. If India can compete on world stage for jobs it is only because of the education brought in by the Missionaries with them. Think about it

It is very bad, world is watching, its shame on Indian democracy and so called secularism, everybody got right to live and embrace his/her own faith. Christianity is a peace loving religion, never enters into confrontation. Today India got majority of renowned educational centres, health care services, social welfare/old age homes and so on - only through christian selfless institutions. Is any religion teaches violance ? Why can't we live and enjoy brotherly life, respecting each other. Lets we all pray Al-Mighty God, Jesus Christ to enlighten the minds of miscreants & administrators - specially ruling government to realise their wrong doings and turn into reconciliation. Lets all live in peace.

The Christian community in Mangalore has only done more good than any harm to the entire Mangalorean society through their educational and medical institutes. Attacking our places of worship have only made those responsible look more weak and ugly. No religion teaches you to hurt or kill another human being.

Moreover ever religion teaches one to respect a place of worship as it where one experiences the presence of God. In my opinion it is only weak and timid people that react in a defensive manner. Shame on you- Bagranga Dal and all those who have involved themselves in such a shameful act!

There is a God above and you will face what you deserve as your actions are never approved by any religion. This is the clear difference between us Christian and you! It is our deeds that make people want to be like us or be part of our community. All humans are influenced by ones deeds or an experience and no one can force a person to choose a particular faith or sect.

My request to those miscreants is please grow up – get wise and use your energy towards more constructive things rather than destructive. Our country needs more manpower and wisdom to progress ahead. It is hence the responsibility of our political leaders to channel this force in the right direction instead of using this force for worthless acts. My fellow Mangaloreans let us be united and work constructively in bringing back peace to our hometown.

This is not my Mangalore which I love dearly. My Managlore was very peace loving city where every person lived peacefully irrespective of his religion.

I was born in this city and got my education through Christian run institutions like Milagres and St. Aloysious. I used to take blessings from church fathers before my exams. They used to bless me and that would give me courage but they never asked me to convert. I had a lovely Christian family as my neighbor and I used to visit church every Sunday with them and prayed exactly like them. My parents never objected for I was praying and doing no harm to anyone.

My Christian neighbor never asked me to convert. We all lived like a family enjoying each other’s festival. I owe my success to the education I received through the great Christian educational Institutions. I appeal to all Mangaloreans to denounce these cowardly acts by the Bajrang miscreants and appeal to my beloved Christian brothers and sisters not to get provoked by comments made by some people in anger.

I can understand their frustration but should we allow these Bajrang forces to succeed in destroying the cordial and beautiful relation that we all have enjoyed for all these years. Friends let us defeat these forces. Let us save our beautiful Mangalore. Let us show to the world that Mangaloreans are peace loving people.

Late Dr Shivaram Karanth, Jnanapeeth Awardee in his autobiography has given a deatiled sketch of how conversions used to take place during 1930s. He opposed it and had to face the wrath of Christians especially those in rule. The conversions were deone through inducements. Economic wellbeing for the converts was the carrot. Money and Land were offered in return for embracing christianity. Incentives were given to those who brought in more people. Dr Karanth opposed it in his own style. he visited all villages around Puttur and educated them about Christian agenda. Even during those days girls attending schools were ' educated' as to not wear bindis. I know of person, who is professor in a university today, who was ridiculed by college authorities for wearing Panche to attend classes. Students gave a fitting reply by electing him as their President. Yes violence should be condemned in bold words, so is to be induced conversions. Conversions on the basis of ideological acceptance are very rare. One must take note that for conversions the places ed by these missionaries are remote villages, tribal areas or dalits among Hindus. They want their numbers to increase not the welfare of the being.

India is a democratic country which means there is no place for violence. Any significant issue of society should be sorted out by DIALOGUE. The vision of Gandhi and the values practiced by him and supposed to be followed up by all Indians is completely missing. The constitution of India guarantees security of every citizen and also gives chance to develop oneself.

Let the VHP/Bajrangdal/BJP do the service of downtrodden and let them prove that they can be a good example to the society. All Chrisrians and the people who are affected by these violence must learn a lesson that one should not allow these kind violent activities to continue further. Why VHP, Bajrang Dal are fussy about the conversion to Christianity? when everybody knows that conversion is not coercive then why are they are after the Churches? If New Life has printed the indescent pamphlets then why are they not confronted directly instead they targeted the whole Christian community and churches.

It shows that Bajrang Dal or its associates are not against conversions but against Christians. But I do not understand why are they against Christianity? Is it because Christians' standard of living has been changing? Is it the Poorest hindus find solace and meaning of Life in Christianity? Is it the poorest hindus find freedom in Christianity? If these are the causes then I think all Bajrang Dal and VHP activists should follow Christianity instead of burning their Churches.

I sincerely request the Karnataka Governor to dissolve the current state government and reconduct elections. This government has failed miserably to maintain law and order and provide justice. They also encourage VHP, RSS and Bajrang Dal militants to carry on with their terror activities.

Christianity came to India in the year 37 but still their population is less than 2.5%. Then why this terrorist group, bajarangidal has the fear that the Christianity is spreading. How they can prove the forcible conversion to Christianity. Roman Catholics are surely not indulging in such act. The people who are converted by force can go to police and lodge FIR. There is no need to show the anger on the crucifix.

Mahatma Gandhi said “an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind” and we Christians respect that. We will not attack our attackers, rather we pray for them, we ask God to give them wisdom and let us not bring hell on this earth. Let us urge all our educated Hindu brothers, to understand the ground reality and put some efforts in explaining at least one person who believes in terrorizing people.

There are thousands of Hindu brothers studied in Christian schools and understand the disciplines of Christianity, kindly take a step ahead and try to bring peace in the country by explaining to your Hindu brother. God will bless you abundantly. All my Christian brothers, let us eradicate terror with love.

It is really sad to see these kind of situation, especially in Mangalore, where Hindus and Christians always lived as one family. Jesus or Bible didn't teach us violence, so please let us protest through non violence. Oh Lord, please bring the situation into full control, let everything be normal and peaceful. God,show mercy on all these people who are involved in this violence (both christian brothers and hindu brothers), they dont know what they are doing.

We can see clear image of people being canned by police inside the church, school compound who have nothing to do with riots, even childrens and womans are not being spared? Why is police being so merciless and hitting innocents?why have you guys not arrested the real culprits,We hope these images have been seen by senior police officers and honarable Disctric comissionar. This would only aggrivate the situation. Thanks Daiji for the coverage. We hope police be a model to educatepeople and secure people not to cane brutally....Have you ever seen such type of problem in history of Mangalore by christians??? am sure this has crossed the limit by the antisocial group who are doing this.why cant police arrest them and restore peace?why can Govt of Karnataka do some thing for the security of the people and property?its a mistry indeed???we should regret that we have elected them???what a mistake

Dear Yajna, (1)An overwhelming majority of the conversions are voluntary not coerced.

(2)If you know of any coerced conversion, show us the evidence, bring the culprits to book. AS far as I know not one Christian has been convicted of fraudulent conversion to date. Do not indulge in rumor mongering and false propoganda.

(3)Evangelization will continue despite all efforts to suppress it. The more you supress the more firm is the resolve.

It's very sad that Bhajrangdal resorted to such hedious task. It's true that thier feelings are hurt but they could have taken some decent measures instead of attacking on Churches. They want thier kids to be educated in Christian institutions. There are millions of non-catholics educated in Catholic Institutions. How many of them have been converted? Why are they blaming catholics of Conversion. Did Christians retaliate by attacking on Temples? Why isn't the Police force and concerned officers taking measures to catch the culprits. Bhajrangdal members need to apologize for thier act. Christains are known to be peace loving.. But the hieghts of patience has been crossed. Bhajrangdal has done a shameless act.

Manglaorean Association of Sydney, Kannada Sangh, Indian Association join us in condeming such an act. The Govt of Karnataka should act immediately, and protect innocent lives, churches, schools, colleges run by Christain institution. This is not the time to point finger at others. We will pray to god that peace is restored and life get back to normal, all the peace loving people of M'lore join hands in living in harmony, god bless our State, our Nation and all the people who live in our beautiful country. Instead of indulging in violence and vandalizing, these Bajrang Dal/VHP extremists should concentrate on educating themselves and liberate from their narrow shackles of blindness and valourizing ignorance. What are they going to achieve ? Why the BJP government is silent ? Why they are targeting only christians ? The want their kids educated from Catholic schools. Even a sacred place like class rooms are attacked. What values do these people hold ? Do catholics attacked their temples ? Obviously it is a State-Sponsored terrorism against us. They have demoted and removed service-minded catholic officers. They are controlling police forces not to take action against Hooligans. Days are not far away - they may enter our homes too. Let them go and study well. Let them help thier wards by doing service. They don't want to progress and they cant see others progressing. They are just interested in politics and look for publicity. Condemn these cheep people.

What a shame..! Stones and arms in a temple...that is shocking. How can they use places of worship like this. My feeling is there are way too many unemployed youth there. My only hope is that our Christian friends will excercise restraint to this outrageous provocation. I really hope our leaders and police will act in a responsible manner, because clearly these incidents are harming everyone and most importantly our future which had just started to look bright. I must add, that I am confused by Mr. M.B.Puranik's statement. The need of the hour is to encourage and empower community based apolitical organization with mixed religious belief to spread root and take our society in an entirely different direction. The current strong religiously polarized society whose population is growing by the day with current set of ideals and understanding will only lead to further such incidents. We are so much moving in the wrong direction.

Even after all these repeated attacks on Churches & protests, what the Government is doing ? Where is the Central Government. It seems no one was arrested till now eventhough the series of attacks have taken place on places of worship. What more you expect from this government. The fundamentalist are just testing the tolerance limit of Christians, if we keep quite now these attacks will increase. Let us not be silent spectators at this stage, let all all get down to the streets & proest. If the same atatcks were happen on Hindu temples what would have been the situation. Let us unite & defeat these communal forces
