Mangaluru: ‘Asathoma Sadgamaya’ is refreshing, a family entertainer with twists

Mangaluru Jul 9: Kannada movie 'Asathoma Sadgamaya' directed by Rajesh Venoor and produced by Ashwin Pereira hit the silver screens on July 6 and has been well-appreciated by audience as well as critics for its entertainment value, flow and social message.

The movie was shot in Mangaluru and coastal parts of the state stars Radhika Chetan, Kiran Raj, Lasya Nagaraj, Deepak Shetty and Baby Chitrali.

Rajesh Venoor in his debut directorial ventures manages in giving a pure family entertainer with emphasis on the he issues the society faces today.

The plot revolves around three youth, their ambitions, struggles and their destinies with enough twists.

Raghava (Kiran Raj) a young guy from Mandya who wants to settle in USA is denied to pursue his dream by his father who wants him to take up agriculture. Raghava falls in love with Sandhya (Lasya Nagaraj) who too wants settle in USA.

Raghava and Sandhya meet Sherlin (Radhika Chethan), a girl who was brought up in Finland but has come to Karnataka in search of her real mother and seeks the couple’s assistance.

Twist in the story comes when they meet a mysterious girl Kushi (Baby Chitrali) who has witnessed her dad's murder. The movie also sheds light on the mafia of private educational institutions which forces the closure of government schools.

In the second half, the story begins to unfold solving various mysteries. However, one has to watch the movie till the end to know if Kushi’s father’s murderer is caught, if Sherlin will find her biological mother and if Sandhya and Raghav will reconcile with their families. Suspense unfolds only in the end without giving any clues.

Director Rajesh Venoor has done well in conveying the importance of family values and also the importance of government schools in the backdrop of a love and suspense filled plot. All the actors have done justice to their roles. The cinematography is excellent.
