Chikkamagaluru, Jul 12: Heavy rains and poor road conditions have made life difficult for students studying in Government Lower Primary School in Sakharayapattana.
More than 40 students who study in the school have to wade through a slush field, to reach their school. Many have soiled their uniforms and have to sit wearing the same throughout the day. The road has been a cause of mishaps, with many people slipping in the slush and hurting themselves.
People from the region allege that their complaints have fallen on deaf ears. Neither gram panchayat nor the block education officer have taken any steps on getting the road fixed, they add.
Sakharayapattana gram panchayat president Yogindra tells media that he is aware of the issue and the road will be repaired after rainy season.
