Bantwal, Jul 13: The driver of a Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) and conductor of another KSRTC bus won over the hearts of the people and passengers by returning the purses the passengers had lost in their buses.
Erayya Belleri, a driver of the Bengaluru - Mangaluru government bus, returned a purse belonging to a passenger named Srinivas.
Conductor of another bus, Mahadeva Swamy, returned a purse to its true owner, Abdul Hameed.
Srinivas had lost his purse at Iruvail while travelling in the bus. Erayya returned the purse after locating Srinivas.
Hameed had travelled from Kasargod to B C Road in a government bus and lost his purse during this travel. His purse had Rs 26,000 in cash, Rs 5000 worth of Dubai currency, and some cards. All the lost items were safely retuned to him by conductor Mahadeva Swamy, on Thursday morning in the presence of Puttur divisional controller, Nagaraj Shirali, and B C Road unit manager, Ismail.
By returning the purses to passengers, without getting lured by the urge to pocket the contents, these two employees of KSRTC have shown that for them, honesty rules over the rest. Their honesty has come in for lavish praise from the general public and colleagues.
