Mangaluru Jul 15: Member of Parliament Nalin Kumar took Mysuru Railway Division officials to task during the meeting with them at DC office on Saturday, July 14.
Nalin Kumar Kateel said, "We have conducted Palghat, Konkan and Mysuru division meetings. Palghat and Konkan railway officials attend the meetings and address their problems. But the Mysuru division officials fail to attend any of the meetings which has created lot of problems and confusion and there is also no coordination between three railway divisions,”
He also said," From your side there is no solution to the problems but you prefer to teach lessons about law. I have called the meeting to address the problems and sort them out and not to discuss about law. Mysuru division officials failed to attend meetings so far, but they are good at discussing law,”
“There were many development works that were inaugurated without the knowledge of local MLAs and people’s representatives and you are not aware about any protocols which have to be followed. You have thought you people are bigger than Prime Minister Modi. You are failing to give service to the people,”
"Mysuru division officials have not noticed the land that was encroached at the market area and Alankar beedies in Farangipet. Even in Bantwal, lot of illegal activities are taking place in Bantwal railway station like prostitution. This was bought to the notice of Mysuru ADRM in vain. There is no security in the railway station,” said Sudarshan from Bantwal.
Replying to it, ADRM Mysuru division A K Sinha said," We need help from deputy commissioner to get back the encroachment at Farangipet and the process is on and soon the land will be encroached,”
Member of Subramanya Mangaluru Railway Commuters Forum, Laxmi Narayan said, "We are in need of foot over-bridge at Puttur railway station. We are also need of shelter in Bantwal railway station,”
Nalin Kumar Kateel directed officials to take up pending development works of stations immediately.
He also asked to send a proposal of constructing railway over-bridge and railway under-bridge whenever required after conducting a survey. “Mysuru division needs to coordinate with Palghat and Konkan railway division in sorting out the problems,” he said.
Nalin also directed to draft a new proposal for Mangaluru-Bengaluru day train service.
