Sullia, Aug 25: The body of Gowramma (52), wife of Basappa, who had gone missing since the Jodupala tragedy happened, was found near a bridge at the lower end of a water fall near Jodupala on the evening of Friday, August 24.
Gowramma's body came into sight when clearing a tree that had fallen near a bridge located about a kilometre away from the spot where the tragedy happened. The rescue team comprising home guards, firemen and locals, could lift the body from the spot on Friday evening.

Four members of Basappa's family, who became victims of a natural disaster on August 17, had gone missing. Body of Basappa, who was a 'D' group employee of the government hospital here, was found on August 18. The body of Basappa's daughter, Monisha, was found near the house on August 19. However, Gowramma and her brother's daughter, Manjula's whereabouts were not known.
Gowramma's body was found exactly a week after that of her husband. She worked as volunteer for the government's 'Asha' scheme at Madenadu. On the day of the tragedy, she had remained home because of heavy rain. Her body was brought to the mortuary of the government hospital here.
In the meanwhile, search for Manjula, daughter of Somayya from Bettattoor in Made village, is continuing. Manjula was a tenth standard student of government high school in Madenadu and she used to attend school from the house of her uncle, Basappa.
