Mangaluru, June 30: Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister Dinesh Gundu Rao on Sunday responded to recent political developments and criticisms, stating that the Congress party remains stable and strong despite differing opinions among its leaders.
Speaking to media persons in city on Monday, June 30 , the minister said AICC leader Randeep Singh Surjewala will soon meet all Congress MLAs in the state to gather their opinions, after which further decisions will be taken. “In a large political party, it's natural to have differing opinions. However, we will resolve our internal matters within the party,” he asserted.

Reacting to the recent comments made by senior leader B R Patil, Gundu Rao said, “He has spoken to the chief minister. If there is any information or suspicion about corruption in the allocation of houses, let that come out. Corruption exists across the country—it’s not possible to say it doesn’t. But our aim must be to eliminate it.”
He dismissed the use of words like “revolution” in political rhetoric, stating that such terms only create confusion. “There is no revolution happening. The government is stable and functioning smoothly,” he said.
Taking a swipe at BJP leaders who have predicted the fall of the Congress government within three months, Gundu Rao said, “That’s a thief’s dream. The people have already sent them home. What’s working right in their party? If they think our house has mosquitoes, theirs is full of snakes. Let them focus on saving their own flock. Our party is strong and stable.”
On sand and red stone shortage in district
Addressing concerns regarding the shortage of sand and red stone in Dakshina Kannada district, Gundu Rao clarified that illegal mining and transportation of these materials cannot be allowed by violating laws. “We will take this issue up for discussion in the upcoming KDP meeting. We will consult senior officials and look into possible relaxations,” he said.
“Isn’t construction activity going on across the country? We need to explore if the law can be amended. These matters will be discussed thoroughly,” he added.
