Mumbai, Oct 22: After spending a night in jail, Maharashtar Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray will be produced in Kalyan court today, where he will seek bail, while the prosecution will move application for his custody.

Preventive curfew has been clamped in Kalyan from 11 am.

On Tuesday MNS activists went on the rampage burning shops and hurling stones in and around neighbouring Dombivali after their arrested leader Raj Thackeray was brought to the police station in connection with the case relating to assault on north Indians.

The activists burnt shops around the Dombivali police station and also indulged in stone throwing at vehicles at many locations, police said.

The suburban Bandra Metropolitan court granted him bail in the Chetna College attack incident in Kherwadi, Bandra, but handed him over to Dombivali police where he will be produced before a local court in Kalyan.

The bail application was moved after the Bandra court remanded him to judicial custody till November 4.

Raj Thackeray was arrested early Tuesday morning in Ratnagiri and was sent to jail by a Bandra court, which however granted him bail but the MNS chief was quickly booked in another case in Kalyan as the police action triggered violence by his supporters in the state.

Under intense pressure to rein in Raj for his anti-north Indian tirade, the Maharashtra government finally arrested the MNS chief in four different cases arising out of the involvement of MNS activists in the attack on candidates from north India appearing for a railway recruitment exam on Sunday.

The arrest was made following a complaint registered in Kherwadi police against Raj and MNS activists for the Sunday incident.

MNS activists went on a rampage in parts of Mumbai, Nashik, Sholapur and Kolhapur attacking shops and pelting stones at buses and taxis. Police made about 2,000 preventive arrests to prevent any violence after the arrest. Violence was also reported from Thane district.

Thackeray was charged under sections 153, 353, 336, 425, 427 of IPC relating to rioting, assault, damage to property and mischief.

The arrest came within hours of a defiant Raj justifying the attack on north Indian youth and warning the State government that it will have to regret the consequences if he was arrested.

"If I am arrested, the entire Maharashtra will be set on fire," he had said addressing a meeting in Chiplun on Sunday.

If such is the trend INDIA IS FOR WHOM? Is it not people have narrow mind rather than broad mind? Irrationalism rather than rationalism? In my opinion Selfishness, greed, zealous, vengeance filled among the people including politicians and regionalism arose absolutely for power struggle.

    Both MNS and Shiva Sena have said- This is just the trailor the film is yet to begin, they are right promos are released in part by part, with Karnataka, This MNS and Shiva Sena are the children of BJP, bring them to power in the center and then watch the entire movie dear Indian Citizens, though now BJP may say this is wrong without their Ashirvad this can never go on on,

    This Raj Thackery would not have the guts to do or talk like this What is this, we will not let the film to be released, we will not let the planes to take off and now this,its GOONDA RAJ, well supported by the BJP only distruction in the state can bring BJP to power they dont have any real issue or a good leader to lead.

    Burning, destroying Govt and private properties what this people will gain ?. Good covarage of Daiji.   These people even think that they are the citizens of India and paying taxes and destroying assets of our nation . Even Bajarangdal attacked innocent people, womens ,chirden and nuns and destroyed the holy places like churches. Please analyse and try to become a good citizen of India

    One more political outfit and one more leader India got at the cost of loss of innocent lives and damage to public property and tax payers money. Recently we saw the Gujjar agitation in Rajasthan, where the entire railway track was uprooted and Govt. sat helplessly. Same way Mumbai will burn and the Govt. should sit with folded hands. After all it is a small price the people of this largest democracy is paying for getting one leader. Earlier we had got his maternal uncle and now the Bhanja. Nothing wrong in violence to get some thing. This is the only way to reach the top. What Gandhiji taught us was good at that time i.e. NON VIOLENCE.Now violence is the route to reach top position.Is it not true that the Govt. of Maharashra was aware that arrest of Raj will definitely lead to unrest then why proper steps were not taken before hand. But than as I said earlier to get one leader we need to sacrifice and after all who all got affected ?? Only some poor and innocent. Forget it he is there for sacrifice only. It is a shame that the present day rulers are not able to handle situations which are manmade.

    We have a proverb asking 'a sapling that did not budge when a little plant, will it bend when a tree ?' MNS should have been reprimanded when they started their first outburst. Now, a poor young man of Bihar is dead as a result of their attacking Railway Examination center.

    His family is so poor that did not even had money to carry out the last rituals of his remains. He had three sisters who depended on him for support. Well, a good lesson for Karnataka. Curb the perpetrators of violence at bud - before it becomes as huge as is a problem to Maharashtra !
