Mumbai: Collection of stories, poems by Hema Sadanand Ameen released

Mumbai, Oct 8: Mumbai University Kannada department and Nrathya Abhinaya Kalakshetra jointly released a collection of short stories 'Avarella Devaragiddare' and 'Kalyaniyalli Male' poems by author Hema Sadananda Ameen. Mumbai University Kannada department head Dr G N Upadhya presided over the programme.

Geethambika Seva Samiti president Kadandale Suresh S Bhandary who was the chief guest, lit the traditional lamp and set the programme in motion. “There are more people writing these days,but those who read are less. Authors feel discouraged when the hobby of reading becomes less. Book is like a friend. Authors should keep in mind what they write instead of the quantity,” he said.



Girija Ameen, Sadananda Ameen and others were present. A classical dance was presented under the direction of Nikita Sadananda Ameen. Vidya Rohith Poojary presented a Veena recital.

Artistes sang a prayer song. Artiste Kiran Desai Salahalli introduced the guests and compered the cultural programme. Kannada department lecturer Dr Poornima S Shetty welcomed the gathering and compered the programme. Prema Poojary proposed the vote of thanks.
