Mangaluru: ATM Skimming in city – police take action, investigate

Mangaluru, Oct 28: City police have started checking the ATMs throughout the city as part of the investigation with regards to several cases of ATM skimming reported.

Police paid visits to several ATMs in the city on the night of Friday, October 26 and investigated. It is unearthed by police investigation that no security personnel in certain ATMs, security guards not alert or sleeping in some places and non-functioning of the CCTV cameras in certain locations are the reasons for the fraudsters to do the ATM skimming. This information was given by police commissioner T R Suresh.

In one more similar skimming incident that is registered on Saturday, October 27 in the Mangaluru cyber police station, ATM skimming fraudsters have hacked the account of Rajesh M Kalli, who has an account with SBI, Basaveshwara Nagar branch in Bengaluru and withdrew Rs 80,000. Police are investigating further.
