Bantwal, Dec 6: "Information about attacking Congress leader, B Janardhan Poojary through social websites by using filthy words has become widely known. I would like to know why the Congress leaders are maintaining silence on the issue," said BJP district spokesperson, K Harikrishna Bantwal.
Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday December 5, Harikrishna noted that Janardhana Poojary is a senior statesman of Dakshina Kannada district, who sticks to secular principles and treads Gandhian ideals. He therefore urged the police to immediately arrest the people involved with sullying Poojary's reputation and punish them. He warned that if the police fail to act, BJP activists will have to take the initiative.
He asked the chief minister to instruct the police to act against the person who posed threat to Poojary by claiming himself to be a Congress activist. On being a Billawa leader, Harikrishna said that he had resigned from Billawa Federation and has turned into a full time BJP worker. He said that he cannot tolerate insult to Poojary, who is loved even by leaders of opposition parties. "I called Poojary to extend moral support and asked him about the action taken by those who had sought his blessings in the past. He told me that god is watching everything," he added.
Party leaders, Devadas Shetty, G Anand, Prabhakar Prabhu, Dinesh Amtoor, Sudarshan Baja and Mahabala Shetty were present.
