Mumbai: Padmashali sangha holds general body meeting in own building

Mumbai, Jan 5: “Though Padmashali sangha of Nekara community that had migrated from coastal Karnataka to Mumbai was established eight decades ago, it was not able to have its own community building. The unceasing efforts of Padmashali Kalabhavana building committee and society and ladies wing executive committee members have made a long cherished dream a reality. The sangha and educational institute in the far sight of Krishnananda M Shettigar have bought a fully fledged building in Thane,” said president of the sangha, Uttam A Shettigar.

The sangha held a general meeting of its members on December 30 in the building bought by it. Uttam Shettigar chaired the meeting.



The meeting began with prayers by ladies wing members. Secretary Leeladhar Shettigar welcomed the gathering. Building committee president Krishnananda M Shettigar explained the purpose of the association and future programmes. B Ramachandra Shettigar and ladies wing head Sarojini H Shettigar presented their opinions and requested for support from the members. Raghavendra Shettigar, advisor of the association Keshava K Padmashali and Vasudev V Shettigar gave details of the association and Kalabhavan. Advisor Shivananda R Shettigar explained about the fund collection and future plans. Ramesh P Shettigar proposed the vote of thanks.
