Mangaluru: Private buses to run as usual on Jan 8 & 9, proposed bandh days

Mangaluru, Jan 7: Rajavarma Ballal, president of Bus Owner’s Association said that buses will run as usual in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts on bandh days. “We do not support unnecessary bandh,” he said.

Auto Drivers Union of Dakshina Kannada district has supported the call. Movement of Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation buses is likely to be affected. Organization of Unorganized Labourers has supported the bandh call.

The call for 'Bharat Bandh' was given by various labour organizations in pursuance of various demands on January 8 and 9.

    Bharat Bandh is called for fuel price increase and actually K'Nataka State has just hiked Rs 2 for petrol and diesel on Saturday.

    bold move by the private bus owners. Bandh of this kind is not an answer to the issue. It will just make life difficult and unnecessary wastage of time and money as things will only improve after 2019 when the chaiwala govt will be ousted from the helm of affairs at the center.
