Kundapur, Jan 10: Renowned singer K J Yesudas celebrated as every year his 79th birthday at Kollur Mookambika temple.
He arrived with his wife Prabha Yesudas in the morning at the temple and after praying to the deity, performed Chandika Homa and Poornahuthi. Priest Govinda Adiga performed religious rituals.
Hundreds of his fans had gathered in the temple. Yesudas sang devotional songs. Devotees were inspired by his songs. He set in motion the musical festival organized by singer Kanhangad Ramachandran due to the birthday celebrations. Yesudas had arrived on Wednesday evening to the temple and remained there. He left after rituals and receiving meal in the afternoon.
