Bengaluru, Jan 13: Cold war has started among JD (S) and Congress, coalition partners in the state government, with regards to the nomination of vice-president post of Karnataka Unit of the NRI forum. The government has withheld the nomination of JD (S) leader Tanvir Ahmed.

As per the agreement, the leaders of both the alliance partner parties have to discuss and take decision before nominating ministers, board presidents, corporations and companies owned by the government. However, in certain government nominations, JD (S) has taken unilateral decision. It is said that JD (S) has not sought the opinion of Congress while nominating the president of Kannada Cine Academy, representative of the state at Delhi and vice-president of NRI Forum.

It is learnt that the Congress has questioned the nomination of Tanvir Ahmed for the NRI forum and is hell bent on giving that position to them. Siddaramaiah, president of the Samanvaya committe has written a letter in this regard to CM Kumaraswamy and appealed to continue Arathi Krishna, who was nominated as vice-president of NRI forum during the tenure of Siddaramaiah-led Congress government.

Prabhakar Ambalathere, chief secretary, Indian committe of NRI forum UAE, opined, "Vice-president for the NRI forum is nominated even after seven months of completion of the new government attaining power. It is not right on the part of the state government to neglect non-resident Kannadigas."

Tanvir Ahmed, who is nominated for the position of vice-president of the NRI forum said, "Chief minster Kumaraswamy has sent an order nominating me as the vice-president of the NRI forum. Once the party leaders inform me after taking the consideration of Congress, I will attain the position."
