Mangaluru: Drug peddler held, items confiscated - two flee

Mangaluru, Jan 26: The police from here have arrested Naushad (34), resident of Harekala Rajagudde near here. He has been accused of trying to sell ganja and heroin in Vidyanagara Panjimogaru.
 
Items worth Rs 3,63,200 were seized from his possession. Two of his accomplices, identified as Azeem and Muhammed Niaz, succeeded in escaping during the raid.
 
The police raided the spot after they got information that the trio was selling drugs in a vacant ground at Vidyanagara on Friday. 240 grams of ganja, 13.450 grams heroin, electronic weighing machine, cellphone, Rs 10,000 in cash, and a Maruti Omni car, totally valued at Rs 3,63,200 were seized from the possession of the accused. 
 
Probe has been launched. Efforts are being made to bring the two escapees to book.

    All criminals involved in drug business should be give harsh punishment to give lesson to others. Police should take the issue serious as many students are consuming drugs now a days and its common in the hostels. Many hostal wardns are also involved In this business. We should stop this bad habit at the earliest to save our youngsters who consider consuming drugs is a practice of most civivilised people.
