Kundapur: Man swimming in temple pond drowns all of a sudden

Kundapur, Jan 29: Nagesh Mogaveera (40), son of the late Thimma Mogaveera, resident of Kumbhashi near Koteshwar in the taluk, who had visited the pond of Lord Kotilingeshwara temple at Koteshwar, drowned on Monday January 28.

Nagesh used to work as a painter of buildings. On Monday morning, he was swimming in the said pond along with some friends. When returning after reaching near the Nandi Mantap on the edge of the pond, he accidentally drowned.

Fire brigade personnel later retrieved his mortal remains with the help of a boat.

A few months back, two students of the government degree college here had drowned all of a sudden when swimming in this pond.
