Mangaluru: ICYM Madanthyar unit organises MPL

Mangaluru, Jan 29: Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) Madanthyar unit organized 'Madanthyar Premier League' tournament for men of Madanthyar parish on January 26 and 27 at Sacred Heart PU college ground.

The tournament was inaugurated by Sacred Heart parish priest Fr Basil Vas and assistant priest Fr Alwyn Dsouza by playing cricket. The MPL tournament had 7 teams and 105 players. The franchise owners of 7 teams selected their team players through bidding. Teams like Vion Fighters, SM bulls, Genesis Arthila, Vinu Risers, Dark Thunders, Dubai Daredevils, Nuthan Warriors were participated enthusiastically and with zeal.



The prizes were distributed on January 27 and Fr Basil Vas handed over the trophies to the winners and the runners up. Fr. Lancy Lewis, superior of Asha deepa, ICYM belthangady deanery president Vivian Fernandes were present. Team Dubai Daredevils bagged the winner’s trophy and team Genesis Arthila bagged the runners up trophy with cash prize. ICYM member Suraj Dsouza was the organizer of this event.
