Mangaluru, Jan 30: ICYM Fajir unit organized blood donation, organ donation and free medical checkup camp on January 27 at Our Lady of Mercy Church, Fajir in collaboration with Fr Muller's Hospital, Mangaluru.

The programme began with a prayer song led by ICYM members. The programme was presided over by Fr Sunil Veigas, parish priest, Our Lady of Mercy Church, Fajir along with Fr Assisi Almeida, Roshan D’Souza, vice president, John Victor Mendonca, secretary, Fajir parish pastoral council, Jaison Crasta Mogarnad, varado representative, Frenton Irol DSouza Cascia, public relations officer, ICYM Central Council, Mangaluru diocese, Lancy Flaied Almeida, president and Teena Ferrao, secretary, ICYM Fajir unit were the dignitaries present on the dais.



Preetham Joyson D’Souza welcomed the gathering. Fr Sunil Veigas enlightened the gathering on the importance of blood and organ donation. The camp began at 9:00 am and continued till 1:00 pm. ICYM members from Fajir unit donated blood in turn inspiring others to do the same. A total of 43 donors donated blood and more than 25 donors pledged by registering their names for organ donation. Juice and bananas were provided to all the donors. Youths of ICYM Fajir unit worked hard to be a helping hand towards the needy as well for the success of this event.
