Udupi: Accident at Manipal Hudco Colony kills bike rider

Udupi, Jan 31: The rider of a motor bike was killed after he was involved in an accident with a tipper. The accident happened at Hudco Colony at Manipal on Wednesday January 30.

The deceased was Shashiraj (29), son of Bhaskar Acharya from Havanje Kukkehalli. He was an employee of Udaya Alluminium, Manipal.

On Wednesday, Shashiraj was moving towards the Industrial Area from Manipal for work when a tipper hit his vehicle neat Udupi College of Nursing at Hudco Colony. It i said that the accident happened because of the recklessness of tipper driver, identified as Mudukappa Kumbar.

After Shashiraj fell on the road due to the impact of the collision between the two vehicles, the tipper wheels moved over his body. He was rushed to Manipal hospital in critical condition, but his life could not be saved.

A case about the accident was registered in Manipal police station.
