Bantwal, Jan 31: Policemen collected Rs 50,000 for the mother of their colleague, late Ananda of 2000 year batch who had died of heart attack in 2002.

Uday Rai went to the residence of Beeturu, mother of late Ananda and handed over the cash. Ananda who was a resident of Padmunja, Beltangady was serving at Subramanya police station.

Ananda had died when on duty in the station. He was born in a poor family. His father had passed away when Ananda was young.

Beeturu thanked all the police staff for their help. The incident has increased people’s respect towards policemen.
