Udupi: Natya Mayuri Thanushree Pithrody ready to create new world record

Udupi, Feb 21: "10-year-old Natyamayuri fame Thanushree Pithrody is now preparing to create another Golden Book of World record by attempting to do 'most number of rolls in one minute in Dhanurasana posture' on February 23 at St Cecily's Group of institution stadium in the city," said Jayakar Shetty Indrali.

General manager of Badaguhettu Credit and cooperative society, Jayakar Shetty extended his support, led by Venjsramana Sports and Culturals Pithrody for the event to be held on February 23.

Jayakar was speaking at Udupi press club here on Wednesday, February 20. He further said, "Thanushree is the beloved daughter of Uday Kumar and Sandhya. At present, she is pursuing fifth standard in Cecily Kannada medium. At the age of three, she started training at Master dance group Udupi. She has participated in 342 dance shows and received appreciations from across the state."

From 2014, Thanushree started to learn Bharatanatyam under the guidance of dance teacher Ramakrishna Kodancha. She is learning yoga from Harish Kinnigoli and yakshagana from teacher Adithya Ambalpady. She is well-known in dancing and participated in state level competitions. She also won the Muddu Krishna contest quite often. She also got appreciation for her Tiger dance.

Thanushree broke the Golden book of world record for the first time by doing the toughest yoga posture 'Niralamba Poorna chakrasana' for 19 times in one minute on November 17, 2017. She was entered in Guinness World record on April 7, 2018 for doing 42 times the 'Most full body revolution maintaining a chest stand position' in one minute. This was led by Venkatamana sports and Culturals Pithrody. Her another achievement was that she performed yoga with Guinness world record holders in Rome of Italy on November 14, 2018.

Thanushree said,"I am so excited to perform yoga posture and have learnt it at a very tender age. I am getting trained everyday since many months. Now I am able to do 50 rolls. Parents are supporting my every activity. I am working very hard to create one more new record."

Uday Kumar, father of Thanushree said, "We have made all required arrangements to perform yoga. I am blessed with a daughter like her. I am indeed happy to see all her developments at this tender age. I am just counting days to see her performance. Now my daughter is getting ready to perform and working hard on it. This would be a her third record. This would be first attempt."
