Udupi: Mall owner cheated for Rs 1.56 crore through fake bills

Udupi, Feb 22: Jamaluddin, owner of City Center Commercial Complex at Mosque Road here, has filed a complaint in the town police station here, accusing five persons of preparing fake bills and cheating him to the extent of Rs 1.56 crore.

The complainant has named the accused as Raveendranath Bhat, who was holding contract for a part of the building, site engineers, Altaf Hussain, Prashanth, Vinay and Vasanth. He says that these five persons prepared fake bills and succeeded in recovering Rs 1,56,88,986 in excess of their eligibility,through preparation of fake bills.
