Byndoor, Feb 25: "In order to provide irrigation facility to the people of the constituency, approval for four irrigation projects is taken by meeting the irrigation minister under the leadership of B S Yeddyurappa, leader of opposition," said MP B Y Raghavendra.

Raghavendra was speaking at the press conference on Sunday, February 24, that was held at the Tourist Bunglow in the town. Continuing his address to the reporters, he said, "Out of the approved projects, Rs 50 crores out of the estmated cost of Rs 120 crores was set aside in teh last state budget for the Siddapur-Saukoor irrigation project and the work of first phase has already begun."

"I have met the central minister for agriculture and demanded to grant funds of Rs 120 crores for the development of Uppunda-Madikal port development, Rs 38 crores for the work of second phase of Maravanthe port and Rs 98 crores for the second phase work of Shiroor Alvegadde port. The minister has instructed the state government to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR)," added Raghavendra.
