Karkala: Woman ends life by consuming poisonous substance

Karkala, Feb 25: Meena Poojary (70), resident of Bantoni House in Nallur village here committed suicide by consuming a poisonous substance on Sunday February 24.

Meena had consumed copper sulphate that had been bought for use in areca nut plantation. She was found vomiting uncontrollably near her home. She was admitted into hospital immediately but her life could not be saved in spite of best efforts of the doctors.

A case about this suicide stands registered in the rural police station here.
