Bantwal, Feb 25: Bishop Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, also the president of Father Muller Charitable Institution initiated pre-entry level accreditation programme of NABH (National Accreditation Board for Hospital and Health care providers) at Thumbay Father Muller Hospital on Monday, February 25. The bishop stressed the need of quality health care for the rural community and thus to fulfil the vision and mission of Mangaluru diocese.

Bishop unveiled the vision and mission statement of Thumbay hospital and handed over the responsibilities to the doctors who are co-ordinators of various NABH committees. “Doctors are the healing instruments of God and they must serve the suffering community with smiling faces,” he said.

Fr Richard A Coelho, director of FMCI, released the hospital magazine ‘Muller@Thumbay’ and appealed all healthcare faculty to serve with dedication and compassion.

Dr B Sanjeev Rai, chief guest of the programme, highlighted the importance of quality care and explained the duties and responsibilities of various NABH committee coordinators.

Fr Rudolph Ravi D’Sa, administrator, FMMCH and Fr Peter S Noronha were present. Fr Roshan Crasta, administrator of Father Muller Hospital Thumbay welcomed all and Dr Kiran Shetty, medical superintendent rendered the vote of thanks.
