Tumakuru: Accident near Manangi bridge - youth from DK among three dead

Tumakuru, Feb 27: After a car hit the protective wall of Manangi bridge on Shira - Hiriyur section of national highway 48 in the wee hours of Tuesday February 26, three persons lost their lives. One of them was of Dakshina Kannada origin.

Chethan (24) from Mangaluru and Vinay (28) from K R Puram Bengaluru died on the spot. The third person, Likhit (20), lost his life in the district hospital here sometime later. Two others in the car, identified as Hemanth and Lohith, suffered serious injuries. They are being treated at the hospital.

The car was moving towards Udupi from Bengaluru when the accident happened. It is said that the car with five young men inside, was moving at high speed at the time it met with the accident. All the passengers were drunk, reports stated. Police sources also said that the car went out of control of the driver because of high speed, and hit the railing of the bridge.
