Mandya, Feb 28: In connection with the accident involving MLA, C T Ravi's car near Kunigal on February 19 early morning near Kunigal, talks were held between C T Ravi and relatives of the two young men who died in the accident. The meeting took place on Wednesday February 17 at the residence of additional district superintendent of police (ASP), A R Balarame Gowda.

The car in which the MLA was seated had hit two young men who had got down from their car for relieving themselves. Shashikumar and Sunil Gowda from Sooranahalli in Kanakapura taluk died on the spot. The meeting between the MLA and relatives took place at the residence of the ASP as he is a relative of the deceased men. Ravi agreed to pay compensation of Rs 2.5 lac each to the families and the family members accepted the cheques issued by him.

Ravi said that he could not immediately speak to the distressed families as he was hospitalized. He said he was fulfilling his earlier promise of helping the families. "The case will continue in court. I did not discuss anything about withdrawal of the case," Ravi stated.

Jayaramu, father of Shashikumar, said that Ravi was edgy to visit his village and hold talks and that he came here because of his respect for Balarame Gowda who is from his native place. "We were given money forcefully. Our young children will never come back, in spite of how much money is paid to us," he said with tears in his eyes.
