Udupi: Gurukula Public School signs MoU for STEM education for high school students

Udupi, Apr 4: On the occasion of 13th year celebrations, the Gurukula Public School signed a MoU with National Education Foundation and State University of New York to provide STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education for the high school students. Bhandya Subhaschandra Shetty, chairman, Gurukula Public School, Anupama S Shetty, Joint Managing Trustee, Gurukula Public School and Prof Dr Gururaj, president, National Education Foundation signed the MOU recently.

Understanding the need of Skills based education along with the existing knowledge based system to enrich the learning abilities of the students to excel both in academics and professional career in the fat changing competitive era said Subhaschandra Shetty.

As per the MOU, National Education Foundation and State University of New York skill centre of excellence will be established at Gurukula Public School, training on STEM education for 8, 9 and 10 standard students, faculty development and exchange program on mutual discussions and need between the two institutions on case to case basis, and training and development programme will be provided for the supporting staff of the school. The MOU is focusing on imparting quality education with international standards, efficient training programmes, global exposure and skill development to the student, faculty and staff. The proposed STEM education programme will enhance the learning abilities of the students in Science, technology, engineering, mathematics, English language, communications skills, critical thinking, decision making abilities, leadership and team building qualities which will support the students in their career to pursue higher education either in engineering, technology, commerce, management etc.
