Kadaba, Apr 4: A man lost his life after a branch of a tree accidentally fell on his head on Wednesday April 3. The incident happened at Potre in Yedamangala village in the taluk.

The victim of this accident was Dinesh alias Nityananda Gowda (35), native of Panemajalu in Kadaba village. He was clearing a tree that had fallen in the farm next to his wife's home at Potre when tragedy struck.

Nityananda was trying to remove the branch of the fallen tree by tying a rope to it and then pulling at the rope hard along with his wife. When the heavy branch suddenly began to move, he sensed danger and asked his wife to move away. His wife could rush out of the spot and save herself in time. However, Nityananda could not get away on time, as a result of which the branch of the tree hit his head hard. He sustained serious injuries to his head. Although he was rushed to hospital immediately, he had breathed his last by then.

Nityananda, resident of Panemajalu, was operating a garage at Punchattaru. He was living at Potre, where the ancestral house of his wife is located. He is survived by wife and a daughter. A case about this tragedy was registered ind Bellare police station.
