Bengaluru, Apr 5: JD(S) state president, Adagur H Vishwanath, feels that BJP's open support to independent candidate from Mandya, Sumalatha Ambareesh, has come as blessing in disguise for his party candidate, Nikhil. He reasoned that Sumalatha is no more an independent candidate now, but is as good as a BJP candidate.

Participating in interaction with press at the Press Club here on Thursday April 4, Vishwanath said that BJP leaders will soon swoop on Mandya constituency to campaign for Sumalatha. He felt that this will work in favour of JD(S) candidate.

He felt that discussing personal matters of candidates like MP, Shivarame Gowda, speaking about Sumalatha's caste, is not advisable. He said that one should respect the fact that Sumalatha is the daughter-in-law of Mandya. He said he, as state JD(S) president, proposes to initiate action against Shivarame Gowda for this lapse. He said that his party has liberal outlook and it has contributed a Prime Minister who was blemishless, to the country. He added that his party does not tolerate a woman being insulted.

Criticising Prime Minister Modi for not meeting any of the poll promises, he accused Modi of promising to create ten crore new jobs, but snatching the jobs away from the people instead. He said that 50,000 BSNL employees will loose jobs after the current election as Modi has acted like the brand ambassador of Reiance Jio. He condemned the notion that those who praise BJP are considered as patriots and those criticising BJP are considered as traitors. He said that Modi has done nothing as compared to achievements of Indira Gandhi who had reduced Pakistan's eminence during the Bangla war.

He advocated family politics, pointing out that seven people from Lalu Prasad Yadav's family are in politics and five from Mulayam's family are into politics. He felt that it is not a big deal that several members of Deve Gowda's family in electoral politics and occupy plum posts.
