Mangaluru, Apr 6: Apolinaris D’Souza the composer and lyricist of evergreen Konkani devotional hymns like ‘Argam Tuka Somiya’, ‘Ye Ye Jezu Mogala’, and ‘Vandan Tuka Somiya’ is all set to release his latest Konkani devotional album ‘Tujea Vinnyak’.

‘Tujea Vinnyak’ contains 25 hymns which can be sung at various religious events and celebrations. The album also includes 10 golden hits of 70s. Apolinaris has himself penned the hymns and composed the tunes. The project is dedicated to aid ‘Saregama Trust’, Mangaluru.

The hymns in ‘Tujea Vinnyak’ are sung by Konkani world’s new generation and sensational singers. The 8 young singers who all are the product of Daijiworld 24x7 TV’s reality show ‘Mozho Talho Gaitalo’ (MTG) have rendered voice for this album.

Velita Lobo and Gavin Menezes the winner and runner-up of the MTG title have sung two hymns each in ‘Tujea Vinnyak’ while the finalists Jason Lobo, Ashwija Mendonca, Samson Coelho and Ashlita Rodrigues have rendered their voice for a hymn each in this album. Royston D'Souza, Elton Pinto, Deepak Pinto, Lavita Rodrigues who were also the part of the MTG rendered their melodious voice for number of hymns of ‘Tujea Vinnyak’. Apart from MTG, singers Dolwin Kolalgiri, Master Ethan Pinto, Raina, Sheryl and Apolinaris himself have sung hymns for this album.

Sandalwood music director Dolwin Kolalgiri arranged the music for ‘Tujea Vinnyak’. Alwyn Noronha Bajpe, one of the prominent judges of MTG and well known vocal trainer assisted team ‘Tujea Vinnyak’ in maintaining harmony. Ruben Machado, Kenny Pereira, Joswin D’Cunha played live musical instruments for this album.

‘Tujea Vinnyak’, is completely recorded and mixed at Daijiworld Audio Visual Pvt Ltd, famed as a professional and reliable recording studio of coastal Karnataka.

One of the best sound engineers of the region Srikanth Srinivas, Ashith Pinto and Sandesh Babanna have recorded the entire project with high proficiency and advanced technology. The album was mixed and mastered by Srikanth Srinivas.

Speaking to Daijiworld about ‘Tujea Vinnyak’, Apolinaris said, “I didn’t write hymns for this particular project. The hymns were written during various times and circumstances. I tried to give a touch for all hymns which I composed in the 70’s and 80’s. I am happy that the talents of Daijiworld TV’s MTG reality show are the part of this album and ‘Tujea Vinnyak’ will be a trendsetter among the current generation. The entire project is done at Daijiworld Studio and as per my experience it is best and comfortable to record such projects. While undertaking this project, I was more concerned about its recording and post production. But when I approached Daijiworld Studio, the recording process was smooth and I got a commendable result.”

‘Mai Gaavan’ also contains 26 songs which are written by Apolinaris. Roshan D’Souza, Angelore arranged music for this album and well known singers of Konkani world have rendered their voice for this album.

Being a singer, composer and lyricist, Apolinaris D’Souza is known for his talents in the Konkani music world. He already has six hymn albums to his credit. He has also published two books of hymns and songs. Basically from Valencia and currently residing at Oman, he holds a key position in the cultural associations in Muscat and Ruwi. He was honoured by the Bishop of Arabia for rendering active service to the church for over two decades. Majority of his Konkani hymns still dominate in religious events which he composed in the 70s and 80s.

‘Tujea Vinnyak’ and ‘Mai Gavaan’ CD’s can be purchased at:
