Udupi, Apr 6: President of Bar Association from Brahmavar has been arrested for misbehaving and stopping election officers from discharging their duty.

Govindaraj Hegde on March 26 had threatened to lodge complaint against election officers when flying squad from Udupi-Chikkamagaluru constituency raided a bar and restaurant in Sahebarakatte in Yadthady gram panchayat limits.

The bar owner had phoned Hegde about the raid. The association president immediately arrived at the spot and threatened of lodging complaint against the officials. He also misbehaved and stopped them from discharging their duty.

A complaint was registered against him in this regard at Brahmavar police station. Hegde who was on the run since then, was arrested on Saturday, April 6 at Sakleshpur.

He was later granted interim bail.

    He did the duty as The President of Bar Owners's association, so that he can be re elected for the same position or for better position in coming days. Finally it is going to be settled / compromised before deposing the evidence in the Trail Court.

    People,

    Few things here...

    1. Govindaraj Hegde's main job is collecting hafta from Ligour Vendors and supplying it to Government and Excise officials. That is why he appears every time a liquor Vendor is raided by Excise Officials...this raid was slightly different...perhaps he was not well aware about this.

    2. He is a big supporter of Jayaprakash Hegde...irrespective of party affiliations...so I am sure Hegde will take care of this.

    3. All Election Official are not reporting to Chief Secretary / Chief Minister during Election time...they report to Election Commission...So Government taking hafta will not protect them from Election Officials...so there should be separate arrangements!!!...

    4. Since they are not under control of Government ...during election period...they do what they want to do...like a dog , which runs away after escaping from its leash...

    Now interrogate Hegde … and see how much money he collects every month from Vendors ...how much he keeps for himself...and how much amount he distribute and to whom???...

    Langoolji.. You have given detailed information. Let me clear the doubt J. P. hedge is that same gentleman, who helped the family members of that couple who got stabbed by the immigrants? Because of him they could travel to Germany? He looks very decent, neat and genuine gentleman with gentle personality?

    Jayaprakash Hegde is a very nice person...he was practicing law in Karnataka High Court under P.Vishwanath Shetty ….and had law office in Kumara Park East...I was Vishwanatha Shetty's client...

    Later on P.Vishwanatha Shetty became High Court Judge and now Lok Ayukta..

    I know both personally well...before Hegde joined politics...

    Just telling you, Govindaraj Hegde is a strong supporter of Jayaprakash.....Lawyer's don't look if his clients are innocent ...but defend them for a fee ...same with politicians ( Jayaprakash Hegde included)…
