Chikkamagaluru, Apr 8: The town on the evening of Sunday April 7 received good rainfall coupled with thunder and lightning for about 30 minutes.
Since morning, cloudy weather and sunshine had played hide and seek. At 4 pm, a tree fell across the road at Vastare village in the taluk. Traffic was disrupted as a result for sometime. Rain was also experienced in Narasimharajapura, Mudigere, Kalasa and surrounding areas.
Good rain was reported from Napoklu and nearby villages in Kodagu district on Sunday afternoon. Standing water was visible on various roads. Movement of vehicles faced problem as potholes which connect Madikeri main road from Bethu village were filled with water.
On Sunday evening hailstorm was experienced at Hebbale and surrounding places near Kushalnagar along with thunder and lightning. The rain has brought down the temperature a bit.
