Bengaluru, Apr 8: Because of its timing, the Lok Sabha election this time, might interfere with the process of evaluation of SSLC examination answer sheets and publication of result.

This time around the authorities have computerised the entire process of the examination. This has been done or the first time. Once the evaluation is done, marks are uploaded online to the server.

Karnataka is set for a two-phase election, one on April 18 and the other on April 23. A good number of teachers, who have been given the work of evaluation of answer sheets, are also required to attend to polling duty. Those who are required to attend poll duty need to undergo training sessions.

Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board director, V Sumangala, said that the process of evaluation will begin as planned on April 10. She pointed out that the evaluators posted for poll duty need to attend training sessions for three days, which will affect the work of evaluation. She therefore feels that publication of result this time might not happen as fast as her department had thought previously. She said that the board has not yet finalised the date for the publication of SSLC result.

She said that this time the process of SSLC examination went well on account of strict preventive measures undertaken but for a few incidents of teachers allowing mass copying in certain north Karnataka districts. She stated that the concerned tried to enable mass copying by switching off the CCTVs.
