Kaup, Apr 9: The decomposed body of a man was found from a toilet located within the compound of a locked house at Agrahara Cross on Katapadi - Manipura Road on Monday April 8 morning.

The deceased was Arif (43), residing near the micro station at Nairkere, Udupi. He was unmarried.

Arif's mortal remains were found inside the toilet located by the side of the residence of Arif's uncle, Mansoor Ali. It could not be immediately ascertained whether it was a case of suicide or accidental death due to falling.

Arif was not having any regular job. He was addicted to liquor. He often visited the house of his uncle. The family members of Mansoor who had locked their house and left for Mulky four days back, had returned on Monday morning. They found the body of Arif after searching for the origin of terrible stench that had enveloped their home.

The family members immediately conveyed information to the relatives and police. It is suspected that Arif would have entered the toilet when fully drunk, and would have fallen inside the toilet and lost his life. On the basis of a complaint made by Irshad, brother of the deceased, a case of unnatural death was registered in Kaup police station.
