Mangaluru, Apr 11: Government of India appointed Aboobakar Krishnapura as the trustee of New Mangalore Port Trust )NMPT) for the next two years starting April 1.
Aboobakar Krishnapura will represent the staff employed at the port having been served a preceding term 2017-19. He currently also serves as the general secretary of Canara Port Workers’ Union, state secretary of Indian National Trade Union Congress Karnataka and deputy general secretary of Indian National Port and Dock Workers' Federation, New Delhi.
Additionally, he serves as the president of school boards of Bertrand Russell High School, Baikampady and Khilriya English Medium High School, Suratkal.

He will represent the Canara Port Workers' Union in the newly constituted board which came in first at the recently held elections in recognition of all trade unions.
