Bantwal, Apr 13: “Statements by BJP and its supporters that the country got ruined during sixty years of Congress rule are false. On the contrary, people became literate, received Annabhagya, light and houses. People could only hear speeches from Narendra Modi led government which speak about scams,” said Niketh Raj Maurya.

Speaking in favour of Lok Sabha candidate Mithun Rai at a mass campaign meeting held on the grounds near Polali Dwara, B C Road on Thursday night, he said that Congress party follows values and principles. Advocate Sudhir Kumar Murolli said that the performance of BJP MP was zero. “He believes that propaganda will make him win,” he said.

Former minister Ramanath Rai said that he lost Vidhan Sabha elections because of false propaganda. “I have the satisfaction of working for the people. The Congress party MP in Dakshina Kannada has developed the constituency. Can you say any of the work was done by BJP MP?”

Party candidate Mithun Rai wondered why some people enquired why he wears saffron shawl. “It is a symbol of unity. I will work to unite Hindus, Muslims and Christians. I will work sincerely if I get an opportunity.”

Dakshina Kannada district in charge minister U T Khader urged the people to elect Mithun Rai.

Vidhan Parishat member Harish Kumar, district panchayat member Chandraprakash Shetty Tumbe, Padmashekar Jain, M S Mohammed, Shahul Hameed, party’s B H Khader, Kodijal Ibrahim, B K Idinabba, JDS’s Mohammed Shafi, P A Rahim, Haroon Rashid, block president Baby Kunder, Sudeep Shetty Mani, Abbas Ali, Balakrishna Alva Kodaje, Sadashiva Bangera, Prashanth Kulal, Rajashekar Nayak, Padmanabha Rai, Akshit Suvarna and others were present.
