Mangaluru, Apr 27: A woman tried to commit suicide by jumping into River Falguni from near the Gurpur bridge on Friday April 26. She has been identified as Lavanya (24) from Neerahalla in Vamanjoor.
Lavanya reportedly was working in a shop selling mobile phones run by her relative. She had married Rajesh two years back. The police feel that family problems could have driven her to take this extreme step.
Workers engaged with the construction of new bridge at the spot saw her jumping into the river. They immediately went and rescued her. Her family members took her back home thereafter. Personnel of the rural police station here visited the spot and gathered information.
