Rotary Vandana Awards presented to Salumara Thimmakka, Ramakrishna Mission

Mangaluru Apr 27: Eminent environmentalist Salumara Thimmakka and Ramkrishna Mission were conferred with the Rotary annual state level prestigious 'Vandana Award' at a function held onApril 26 at Ocean Pearl Hotel.

The award was conferred on them in recognition of their exemplary achievements and in appreciation of their invaluable contributions, in the field of environment protection, empowerment and Swacch Mangalore Movement. The award was jointly instituted by Rotary Club of Mangalore Central and Rotaract Club of Mangalore City.

Rotary district asst Governor Rtn Kiran Prasad Rai graced the occasion as chief guest and presented the awards to the achievers and congratulated them. In his address he lauded the community services of Rotary Club. He also released clubs weekly bulletin 'Centor'.



Chairman of the award selection committee Dr Devdas Rai in his introductory address revealed that the annual Vandana Award is conferred on achievers and is part of clubs vocational service project. He congratulated Salumara Thimmakka and Ramakrishna Mission on their unique achievements in the field of environment protection and empowerment.

Responding to the felicitations, the awardees expressed their gratitude to the Rotary Club and said that they deemed it as a privilege and honour to accept the Awards which is very valuable among the awards they have won.

President Rtn Santhosh Shet presided over the function. Secretary Joel Lobo presented the report, District Rotaract Representative, Rtn Ganesh was present, Rotaract Club Secretary, Rtn Sheldon Crasta proposed the vote of thanks.
