Bengaluru, Apr 27: Additional advocate general (AAG) of the state, A S Ponnanna, has resigned from his post.

He has cited personal reasons for the said decision. Ponnanna, who was appointed as additional advocate general during the term of the previous Congress government in the state, had succeeded in ably arguing in courts a number of complex cases on behalf of the government.

After the new coalition government was formed by the Congress JD(S) and the Congress, the new government too had chosen to again appoint him as the AAG.
